I am a Sexual Assault Survivor

Charlen Larsen
Founder & President, Never Walk Alone

Hi, my name is Charlen Larsen. I was raped in my teens.

I went through years of struggle, facing guilt, self-harm, depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. Then one day, my father, Rich Larsen, sat down with me, and together we reflected on how the incident might have been prevented.

Based on my experience, we began developing features that could have prevented the incident, alerted my friends and family, and gathered evidence for potential use in court.

Our goal was to create tools that could prevent pain, self-harm, anxiety, depression, and even suicide among young girls and boys.

bSafe – Technology that save lives
Today, this has evolved into bSafe - Never Walk Alone, a safety and security technology to prevent, manage, and document incidents, emergencies, and crises. It includes an app, hardware, and a SaaS platform for seamless integration with other technologies.

Our software allows users to activate an SOS by voice on their phone, combined with location tracking, live audio and video streaming, recording, and two-way communication with emergency services.

Our technology is now sought after by tech companies worldwide and has been featured by CNN, ABC News, Fox News TV, BBC News, Finansavisen, and other major media outlets.

Never Walk Alone Foundation

My story led to a powerful commitment to preventing and stopping violence and rape. After experiencing the traumatic event in my own life, I decided to turn my pain into strength and initiate positive change by founding the Never Walk Alone Foundation.

We have a shared responsibility to tackle the problem of violence and rape. I have seen and felt the consequences up close, and it has driven me to take action. Through collaboration with ambassadors, partners and sponsors, we will work to influence attitudes and behavior, as well as promote respect, equality and a safe environment.

The foundation aims to provide training programs, workshops, seminars and campaigns to inform and educate people about rape and how to prevent it. Furthermore, the Foundation will engage and collaborate with business, schools, media and political authorities to influence attitudes and create a safer society for all.

The Never Walk Alone foundation has a logo that symbolizes freedom and independence for people. The butterfly represents empowerment and a transformation, where people can finally break free from previous limitations on their path to safety and freedom.

I am happy and waiting my first baby, a little girl in April 2025. I am grateful that my incident can help others and that our technology is so much appreciated and requested globally.

I want to create a movement for change, where women can feel safer. Together, we can create a culture of respect, safety, and equality.

I WANT TO CHANGE THE WORLD.
I HAVE A MISSION. I’M NOT THERE YET, BUT I’M ON MY WAY. JOIN ME!
